We did pretty good. Back side of the dam slid off a bit, but the dam did hold. Had a lot of mud and water in the barn, but a pretty easy cleanup at the end of the day.
Are you talking the open tip stuff, or like a real hollow point?
The ones we were using was like a handgun hollow point. Had a wide mouth on it. Don’t know how well they expand, but he sure dropped a lot of deer with em.
Don’t ever see em anymore.
Ain’t that the truth!
Yeah it sucks too because most all the hollow point stuff you find now is some sort of match ammo or something.
Hard to find good HP hunting/defense ammo.
Long story short…
Yes, I am elk hunting this year. But I also wanted something that was a little less influenced by outside factors, wind, little high grass, unseen leaf.
Who knows. Maybe it helps, maybe it don’t. I’m gonna give it a shot though.
What are y’all’s thoughts on a heavier arrow setup? When I say heavier, I’m talking like 505-515gr from a 70lb compound at 30” draw.
I had been using 430-440 grain arrows in the past but just bumped it up a bit for some new arrows.
Thoughts?
Friend of mine got a Radical AR. I helped him sight it in. At 100 yards he could barely hit a paper plate…
I shot it a few times and it shot great! Lots of these modern rifles accuracy comes down to the shooter. I’m by no means some sort of dead eye shooter, but the rifle was more than capable.
