Double Beard

Biggest double beard I’ve ever shot. Shot a few double beards and a triple beard in my day but today’s was the best for me

Looks like a nice one. How was the action where you hunt? Pretty slow for me over the weekend. Few Birds gobbling in the roost but pretty quiet once they went to the ground.

Hoping to get out a couple mornings this week.

More gobbling than I’ve ever heard in Kentucky. Lots of adult birds and loads of Jake’s. It’s been unreal to be honest.

Can’t beat that then. I don’t have a good frame of reference for Kentucky, first year I’ve hunted here. From what I’ve gathered on KHF in the last 6 months the area I’m in has a pretty big poaching problem. Not sure if that extends to turkeys or not. I didn’t hear a lot of shooting over the weekend though. Still early too, I should be able to get out a good bit this season so we’ll see what happens.

Don’t overlook middle of the day hunts. After 10:00 has produced many birds for me when those hens go to nest.

I have only seen one other gobbler with a double beard like that one.
